Kapalua Beach provides sand, sun and ready-made guests …

This stretch of beach rates a "Gem" in the Maui guide book, Maui Revealed. That rating well describes the experience for swimmers and beach-goers. If you are interested in getting married on this beach, however, know that you will have lots of univited guests at your wedding.
Beach access is from the Kapalua Bay Hotel (a long walk in a bridal gown) to the north of the beach, and from the Napili Kai Beach Club to the south of the beach. Public parking is available at the south access area but limited. Parking on the street is allowed unless marked otherwise.
Overall, we don't recommend this location unless you don't mind sharing the moment with strangers.

Another beach, just north of the Kapalua Bay Hotel, offers long stretches of sand and dramatic lava cliffs on the north end. Ironwoods Beach (officialy known as Oneloa Beach) is typically uncrowded. It is accessed from a public parking lot and then down a long concrete path to the sand. This area (like most beaches close to the northern reach of Maui) tends to be windy. Rain is also more likely, especially during the winter months. For smaller weddings without extensive setup (cake, flower circle, etc) this beach provides dramatic setting and uncrowded conditions.
